HR
FINAL WARNING

Brought to you by HR Gangster HR GANGSTER

Everything HR knows. Nothing HR can say. HR has written a career's worth of final warnings for everyone else. This one's theirs. A party game built from real HR war stories, by the people who lived them.

Not From The Outside
HR FINAL WARNING

It is not a game that makes fun of HR from the outside. It's a game that finally lets HR laugh from the inside.

Every card was written by HR professionals, for HR professionals, pulled from real investigations, real policies, and the kind of 2 a.m. Teams message nobody should have sent. If you've ever actually sat in the room, you'll know exactly which room each card is talking about.

Why HR Gangster Makes A Party Game
HR FINAL WARNING

Levity Is Load-Bearing

High-performing teams don't survive their hardest stretches on discipline alone. They survive them because they can still laugh together in the middle of it. That's not just a line from this brand's own code. It's a rule this game was built on, independently, twice. HR Final Warning aims every joke at bad process, bad policy, and the absurdity of corporate life, never at the people living through it.

Long before anyone connected this game back to HR Gangster, its writers had already landed on the same rule from the other direction: if the joke is that an employee is stupid, it's the wrong joke. If the joke is that work is absurd, it's the right one. Two different projects, the same principle, arrived at separately.

The Premise

The fill-in-the-blank party game that spent a decade in HR.

Every round starts with a black prompt card pulled straight from a real HR moment. Every other player secretly submits their funniest, most outrageous, or most painfully accurate white response. The table decides which combination wins, and somewhere around round three, the game disappears and the real war stories start.

Why This Game Exists
HR FINAL WARNING

HR Final Warning™ is the party game written by HR professionals, for HR professionals. HR spends its whole career listening to everyone else, biting its tongue, and choosing its words very carefully. This is the one warning HR actually enjoys giving. Every card is pulled from the investigations, impossible manager moments, executive decisions, documentation disasters, and workplace truths that make HR unlike any other profession.

Match hilarious responses to painfully real HR scenarios, but don’t be surprised when the game stops because someone yells, “That actually happened to me!” The best rounds won’t just earn laughs, they’ll unlock the stories you’ve been sitting on for years and remind you that every HR professional has a favorite war story... and for once, you’re in a room full of people who get it.

For a living, HR issues the warnings, keeps the confidences, and never gets to tell the story. Consider this your final warning: it’s your turn. Just play it with your HR friends, not the employees and managers you have to keep a straight face for on Monday. Shuffle the deck, deal the cards, and get ready to laugh, cringe, groan, and discover that no matter where you work, the best HR stories are the ones we all somehow share.

How It Plays

Black cards start the story. White cards twist it.

HR FINAL WARNING
INSTRUCTIONS
01

Draw

Everyone draws 10 white cards. Whoever most recently said "it depends" goes first as HR Director.

02

Prompt

The HR Director reads one black prompt card out loud to the table.

03

Submit

Every other player secretly submits their funniest white response, face down.

04

Judge

The HR Director reads every combination aloud and picks the one that wins: funniest, truest, or most outrageous, judge's call.

05

Score

The winner keeps the black card as a point. Everyone draws back to 10. The player to the left becomes the next HR Director.

06

Win

Play to an agreed score, or until Legal walks in. Whichever comes first.

A Few House Rules
  • The "It Depends" Rule: if two answers are equally funny, the HR Director may declare "it depends." Both players score.
  • EEOC Appeal: once per game, any player may challenge a losing decision. The table votes. Majority wins.
  • Executive Override: one player is randomly named "The CEO." Once per game, they may override the HR Director's call.
Try It Right Now

Here's exactly what a round feels like.

Hit deal, read the black card out loud, then see three real responses land underneath it, exactly like the table would compare them before picking a winner.

The Backstory

HR Final Warning made its debut at the MSI HR Summit (October 13-15, 2026, in Orange, CA) as part of an afternoon activity built just for attendees. Everyone who played walked away with their own copy, free. If that's how yours found you, now you know the story.
